President Uhuru Kenyatta  paid about Sh 1 million for a night on Tuesday  in the Presidential Suite of Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel at The Hague. The five star hotel is one of the most expensive hotels in The Hague with breakfast costing about Sh 35,000. Uhuru, his wife Margaret, daughter Ngina and some supporters including several Kenyan MPs, spent the night at the Hotel.

According to the hotel’s website, the Presidential Suite contains a majestic living room, which offers a spacious lunge and dining area including a grand dining table. The rooms are fitted with a king–size bed and bathroom, which features a walk in shower, a walk in closet, Jacuzzi and luxurious bathroom amenities.

Uhuru was also entitled to a selection of delicacies and beverages, a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and snacks. Sources said Uhuru paid the amount personally because he was there as a private citizen and not as the President of Kenya.
