Deputy Chairperson of Sengerema District Council, Mr Ibrahimu Kalunga, warned on Wednesday here during the inauguration of TASAF phase III in Sengerema District.
The inauguration accompanied by a short seminar was aimed at ensuring the Ward Councillors, Ward Executive Officers and other officers in the district are well equipped, ready for the implementation of the new phase.
According to Mr Kalunga, councellors who will be involved in supervising the project implementation must be fair so as to help eradicate poverty as per intended project objectives.
“I ask my colleagues that we should draw line between the project and our political interests, we won’t tolerate anyone who will manipulate this project for his or her own benefit.
“We are just the supervisors, don’t go there and dominate the project on political basis that will lead to separation and may drive us to failure,” he lamented. Most of the councellors expressed their gratitude to TAFAS for selecting their district, adding that will be their political salvation
